Rejecting low SNR level Client

Hi,

Please can somebody help me about how can I reject a bad signal client who has a bad SNR, I got (AP-Bridge 2.4G) and hotspot users are connecting to it with -95dBm signal strength with SNR 3dB, the aim of rejecting of this user is when he connect he is affecting on the router radio performance, for example if there is 10 hotspot users connected to the AP, and they got good signal strength, they have a good connection speed, also when they ping the server the time range is 5 to 10 ms, when one bad signal hotspot connect to the AP, all the rest 10 hotspot get bad performance connection and their ping time range rise to 1000ms or timing out, so, I suggested to reject the bad signal hotspot user, i tried with the connect List of the AP wlan, and set the min signal to -85dBm, but that didn’t work, now, my question is, is there any option to reject the users if they got SNR lest than 15dB?

hi

set ack time out in wireless-> advanced settings to Indoors … unless your good clients are far away (like +2 miles)

that should stop the preformance drop issue… or just block the mac addy of the -95 guy…you dont want him connecting anyway since that is prob the absolute bottom of your cards recieve sens.

Hi,

Thank you jo2jo, I set the ack-timeout to indoors, but that didn’t help, about blocking the mac addy also it is not a good fix, i got too many users and towers, till now i’m not getting it, is this problem from Transmitting power, if it is , is there any option to set it or limit it?, and I want to know how many users usually the wlan can handle?, thanks
