Can we remote over internet to mikrotik if we don’t have public IP?
so the topology’s is like this:
[router A] -----> [MIKROTIK A] —>[switch]---->[client]
and we don’t have configuration access on routerA because they just reseller internet service.
if in ubuntu server without public IP, I can make my PC and ubuntu server make p2p connection and I can remote it and just need internet connection without public IP.
so in mikrotik, can we remote it without public IP?
If you have some other device with public address, you can make it VPN server, then configure MIKROTIK A as VPN client, let it connect there and use VPN link to access it.
I always thought that public IP address shortage was a bad thing. And look, you can use it to build successful business. I guess these guys are not very much looking forward to future with IPv6 without NAT and plenty of public addresses for everyone. (although to be fair, their service does have some added value)
