Hi guys, I have looked and looked but I can’t find a dummy proof explanation how to remote access RouterOS.
I don’t even know where to begin.
Can someone please explain what the setup should be on this end (connected), and what URL the remote person should go to?
Make a schematic diagram from your network so that so we give you a clear answer
If i understand will you routerboard accessible from the public internet?
Well, I want someone else to access my router and make some changes, but the person lives in another country.
The router is brand new (original settings) and is only being used as a home router.
The Diagram would just be like this:
ADSL => Router => Laptop
Hi there, how do I “forward” a winbox port?
I tried going to my ip adress on winbox, it works when I’m locally connected (also wireless), but when I connect to a different router, it doesn’t load. It just says “Connecting to 82.xxx.xx.xx. (port 8291)” and does nothing.
My ADSL router only allows me to enable this: Local IP || Type (TCP/UDP/Both)Port-Range || Comment
I can’t put the Mikrotik IP in it, because it isn’t local.
I tried just using the Mikrotik router in the wall, but that didn’t help either. Am I missing something?
By local IP type ip from mikrotik routerboard in
by port range type the port from winbox in 8291 and 8292
Than can you connect with your wan IP to the mikrotik
HI there, it didn’t help because it should have been a local IP..
I changed my location and using a different router now. I also reset the Mikrotik router.
Now I can type this (on the ADSL / Cable router):
Public Port Range || Target IP Address || Target Port Range || Protocol
My Target IP should be the IP I’m using right? And public port range should be 8291?
I don’t know what to fill in the Target Port Range.
Also, I can’t even log in using the IP (178.xxx.xx.) instead of the 192.168.88.1, I could do that before but now I can’t.
I’m so lost.. Please help.
I’m not using a router anymore. So it’s just my Mikrotik Router.
When I print my IP it says this:
Flags: X - disabled, I - invalid, D - dynamic
# ADDRESS NETWORK INTERFACE
0 ;;; default configuration
192.168.88.1/24 192.168.88.0 wlan1
1 D 82.xxx.xx.171/24 82.xxx.xx.0 ether1-gateway
I have a feeling this should be very simple, as Winbox is created for remote access.
There is just not many documentation about accessing the router remotely.
