Im new to the mikrotik and i have a small problem.
I use the mikrotik as a wireless AP for a small network.
This network is connected to the internet throug “another brand router”.
I need to be able to admin the mikrotik from the internet.
But no matter what ports i open on the “another brand router” i cant access my mikrotik using WinBox over internet. On the local network it’s no problem at all.
Is there a setting that only allowes local IP’s to admin the mikrotik? Or do i miss to open some ports. Does anybody have an idea?
Well, yes that would solve my problem but it is a low budget network and i dont have the equipment to set up a VPN on that site.
My question really is if there ar any limitations in the mikrotik by default to block administration except from the local subnet etc. Tnd if the how can i change this setting.
It just struck me that maybe I haven’t set the default gateway address on the lan inteface. I have to check this next time i’m on the site.
