remote desktop access with static ip address

i was using fortigate and i setup the port forwarding to one of my pc. after i switch to RB951G-2HnD, i can no longer access to the pc Via remote desktop even with the port setup. my cctv port forwarding works good thou. what do i miss? thanks

PS: i got it work now. but i have 2 pc to do the remote desktop. but mikrotik only allow port 3389 to be used for remote desktop? i use other port number but seem none can be recognize tq

Fact: Mikrotik does not allow or disallow any ports to be used for whatever purpose !!!
You can configure whatever you want. So if you have two computers to access with RDP through router, just map another free port like you did with 3389.

But…


in my humble oppinion it is not wise to expose RDP port to public access. I would advise you to create VPN access to your network, and then you do not have to map any ports for RDP or any other service..
