has nobody worked with this kind of system? or does Mikrotik hardware not support it?
need help and information.
This doesn’t have anything to do with Mikrotik hardware. You build wireless links and send traffic over them, possibly prioritizing it as required. It doesn’t matter what puts the traffic on the link (CCTV cameras) and how the cameras are powered (solar), or how the APs are powered (solar). Yes, it supports it, but there is no Mikrotik specific question in your request at all.
AFAIK these devices have routerboards inside them. Or at least used to have:
Salutes to you Normis
Thank you for your help. ![]()
I may be wrong, maybe they changed their design. It was a long time ago when I heard about it.
I have mailed them. Let’s see. ![]()
Normis I seriously want to develop a Remote Video Survelliance system based on Mikrotik. I want it to be plug-n-play types and completely hassel free.
Normis… can you have a look at AXIS M7001 Video Encoder.
Why not just use Mobotix with a Routerboard the solution already works? What VMS software would you install or are you going to develop your own? Just so I understand you will have an IP camera or encoder and you will be running VMS software on the Routerboard using the SD or USB for storage. Am I correct?
how to work out the POE? for both - the routerboard and mobotix
Why would you want to use POE for solar applications? 12VDC for Mobotix and 12VDC for Routerboard. Personally I think POE is a PITA when your trying to do stuff like this.
i liked ‘PITA’ ![]()
ok thanks for the info brother… well developing a solutions / product from scratch without much funds in the hand is another PITA. ![]()
will work out the power consumption now as solar cells will need to be that powerfull.
