repeatable bug- crashes: wrap 2c, RB 112 w/ 8602

I have 15 Wrap 2c’s and 1 RB112 at an install. All are running 2.9.27 and have a 8602 cards in them.

Simply disabling the Wireless interface Crashes the device. NO reboot no response to mac ping (these units are serving as access points, wired).

Once rebooted the device will show the wireless int disabled…you can enable it and it will not crash..but doing the opposite will crash it.

this was the case with 2.9.22 also.

I even have 2 532s at my office and disabling the wireless int causes the routers to lock up and must be power cycled.

anyone else seeing this issue?

EDIT: We did have watch dog and reboot on failure tuned on but this is a compelet freeze that requires a power cycle.

Yep, I’ve seen this too..but with CM9 cards as ap-bridges included in a bridge interface.

was a power cycle the only fix for you too?

i ask bc the device is 3-400 miles away and i would rather not make a trip if possible…but i assume i will.

Yep. I haven’t actually tested to see if this is still a problem, but will try out a fresh AP. I’m afraid to disable any radios in the field because of this. Mentioned it months ago but it was assumed that my config was wrong. It seems to be an issue when a radio is bridged and in ap-bridge mode.

just tested RB112 with one 8602 card and it is working ok - no crashing when disabling the wireless card.

Are you sure the unit is crashing? I saw this kind of behaviour when disabling interfaces that were part of bridge groups and with a serial console, traced it back to the bridge not cleaning up the MAC correctly. The unit continued to run, but wouldn’t communicate over any of the interfaces that remained in the bridge group until it was rebooted or the disabled interface was enabled again.
