I installed a Netgear R7000 for a client and we have not been happy with its performance. We are seeing random disconnects and wifi turning off after reboot.
I’ve used Mikrotik routers in the past and recently picked one up for my home after another netgear and TP-link could not deal with my 4 person home bandwidth and nat requirements.
I use a RB2011UiAS-2HnD-IN for my home and was thinking about using that but I’m curious what other options might work better. Reliability is key for this install.
Client specifications:
1GB 48 port switches
15 wired desk stations.
2 NVR with 30 cameras on there own internal network. Hikvision
34 wireless and other same wired appliances (timeclock machines, POS terminals, phones, tablets etc)
51 total devices.
ISP connection 2 bond T1’s 3.0mbps
wireless private office network, and employee guest network.
Most business traffic goes on the internal network to and from a local quickbooks 2015 server. Most internet traffic is web browsing and email.
On paper the RB2011UiAS-2HnD-IN would work fine but I’m thinking of going with something with more processing power and 2-3 wireless AP.
I’m interested to see what others on the forum have seen for performance with the RB2011 in an office, if it could handle this, or should I go with something beefier. I mostly need something that will not go down unless its on fire or up and died.
