Replacing hardware without affecting license

Can anyone explain how the license ties to the system? I need to upgrade the hardware, but don’t want to break the licensing so that the router stops operating. I can re-use the hard drive if I have to, but that is about it. I would actually prefer to have everything run out off of a ramdisk or a flash drive with the HDD simply there for logging, but not knowing how the OS will respond to new motherboard, CPU, and NIC’s, I’m very hesitant to make the changes.

We had a power issue in July which killed one of the quad-port NIC’s. Since then the MT router has locked up twice. There were no indications of increased traffic, CPU load, etc. It just stopped responding. I wish that the software had CPU temp and fan monitoring in case it is overheating, but I’ll take what I can get.

I’m hoping that fully replacing the system with new as well as giving it more horsepower will help.

Thanks,
Steve

the license is tied to the harddrive. If you want to use a RAM/Flashdisk you’ll need a new license
