Considering Mikrotik develop wireless networking, I think it’s so nice to have it’s own Wireless Link Planner like Motorola.
I know there are such applications exist that do it, But if Mikrotik has it like Motorola it can be more precise on the calculation.
I will wait for ant opinion.
radio mobile not good enough?
99% of the planning for a link I do is getting the terrain maps for the link as accurate as possible, trees, misc. obstructions, etc. All the path loss, fresnel zone, EIRP, etc. is all very easily calculated (I use a spreadsheet I made years ago).
Radio Mobile is one of the best available link planners I’ve used. I’ve used the Motorola link planner and IMHO its not very good. I plotted a link I already had working, and compared what the real world gave me, vs. the Motorola planner. The Motorola was so overly optimisic about what I would get that I wondered who would actually use it. About 3 days after using their downloaded planner I got a call from a Motorola sales rep asking me if I was interested in the equipment I had selected in the link planner. Its a gimmik, its masqueraded as a great tool but in reality it is setup to get info about who is doing what where, and maybe they need to buy something. I’ll stick with my trusty spreadsheets, Radio Mobile, and anything that doesn’t have an vested interest in the results.

Thank you for reply. BTW, I think it’s much better Mikrotik have it’s own Software. because Mikrotik has some features in wireless like nv2 which is not available in Radio mobile calculation, Am I right ?
No, NV2 has no bearing on the physics of a link.

I’m not talking about the only physics of wireless link. I mean to engage some wireless feature which effect on the result.
If you used Motorola Link Planner before, you can see changing in wireless channel (5, 10, 15, 20 , 40 MHz), antenna type (parabolic dish, Parabolic grid, Flat, . . .), type of LMR (400,500,600) and some other characteristic are effective.
