I Must voice my opinion on the removed permissions for scripts run from Netwatch. Our entire WISP management is built around scripts run via Netwatch, upgrading, pushing configurations, self-configuring cpes during installs, emailed reports, etc.
1000’s of devices utilize these functions in our network. I officially request that the option to enable the permissions for netwatch be enabled. We have halted OS upgrades until we find a suitable workaround that does not require a full re-design of our network-wide scripts.
Opting to run these scripts via the scheduler does not suffice in our environment, we must be able to run the scripts on demand.
Mikrotik - I implore you to please reconsider the diminished capabilities of Netwatch, in the least, default to restricted rights but allow a user to modify the rights.
