Reset button on RB230

put a jumper on the jumperpins, and start the board. config should become reset.

why do you want to reset it anyway?

log in with serial console and issue the “/system reset” command

NAND Flash on RB is corrupt.
You need reinstall routeros with netinstall.

this device doesn’t have a NAND flash, you can take out the CompactFlash card, insert it into a USB reader and attach to a Windows PC. there you can run Netinstall to reinstall the RouterOS on the CF card. Use X86 packages for this RB model. Then put the CF back to the RouterBOARD and see if it boots.

should not, but write to support [at] mikrotik com to get help, if it does.

that’s correct, MAC address can’t be shown, because you have connected only the CompactFlash, not the rotuer itself. Just select appropriate packages and hit INSTALL.

This is another method of installation. slightly different from what’s in the manual

you have to use serial port and configure an IP

if you are installing v3.x then try with baud rate 115200 after those 2 beeps. Also when you hear those 2 beeps then you can try to use Winbox to login by MAC address.
