Reset Not Working RBD52G-5HacD2HnD

Dear folks,

Please urgently advise on how to go about resetting the mikrotik to factory default with username as admin and no password.

This is a brand new router, I was able to log into it the first time via winbox but after a reset (switched off, hold the res button and power in) USR flashes and stopped, I got IP address of 192.168.101.1

I have repeated necessary steps to get this router to reset so that I can use the 192.168.88.1 default without password to log back but to no avail.

Anyone with this issue or advise on how to resolve this.

thank you

I have a similar problem with brand new RB951 with routers 6.49.13: the router correctly provides a DHCP address in the subnet 192.168.88.0/24 but when I log in with credentials “admin/no password” it does not allow me to access, both with Winbox and SSH.

Cannot sat specifically about the ac2, but newish Mikrotik routers come with a user admin and a “random” password preset.
The password is (un-[1]) readable both on a sticker on the device and on a label attached to the instructions.
AFAIK the reset should get back to those values.
