can anybody help me??i can’t use reset button on rb-411… :cry: :cry:

the reset button is for backup loader (something like a BIOS). if you need to reload the OS config, you have to use the jumper hole.

How time need use this contacts ? I press before poweron and unpress after loading but board not reset.

you need to hold until hear beep, or software starts. if not reset, you might be doing something incorrectly. make sure you are using a metal object

I have tried this many times, but it doesn’t work! what the problem is? should it be connected to network or not? what about connecting and disconnecting the power during the reset process?

Does it reset the IP address too? because I can’t access to my Routerboard neither via winbox nor the telnet. what should I do?

use the Winbox loader to connect with MAC address, see this page:

without any parameters /system reset-configuration will save current config in backup file, remove everything, and if present, set up defaults (can be changed using netinstall whilst reinstalling RouterOS)

So, if router does not have that default - it is completely blank and only possible way to connect to router is: mac access using winbox, mac-telnet

Hi there,

I’m stuggling with the same problem. I cannot reset an RB411AH.
I am using a metal screwdriver
It does touch both contacts

I have tried several things in the bridging of the 2 connections:

  1. Power on, bridged, until the 1st beep
  2. Power on, bridged, until the 2nd double beep
  3. Power on, bridged, half way between the 2 sets of beeps
  4. Power on, bridged, for a minute

System does not reset.

Please assist
