Can someone describe what having an agent will do for me? I understand I can create a Dude server at offsite locations and connect with Dude Client, but how does the offsite server (agent) interact with my Dude server here at the office?
Thanks in advance…
Did you read this?

You can add devices to your map that are not directly reachable, for example devices in your office LAN, if the GW has an agent.
I have read that multiple times. Here’s what I’m looking at.
I have a PC at a remote location with Dude Server on it. It’s behind the network, so I have Dude port 2210 ported to 60015. and the only service I can enable (for that pc) on my local Dude Server is Dude. Works fine. To sum that up, I have a device on my local Dude Server that gives me an up or down status for the PC. I can also connect to that Dude with Dude client and see status of other devices in that network.
Here’s part of the problem. If I create an agent for that PC (which I believe is valid because Status shows ok and I get a blue checkmark), when I assign that agent to the PC (device) on my local server, the device shows Down. If I change the agent for that device back to default, the device status shows Up. What’s wrong with this picture?
What am I supposed to be seeing if I have an agent configured properly? What information does my local Dude Server show about devices on that remote network?
Found it. Info is shown in setting a device up manually instructions. First setup the Agent which is basically the IP of the remote server. In Device Settings, in General Tab, select the newly created agent and click the Dude Server checkbox. A new Tab appears for that device, named Dude. If you click on the Dude Tab, wait a short moment or two, the Network Map(s) located on that server will appear.
In my case it doesn’t work because I have ported to 60015. Dude opens up looking for port 2210. Further investigation may find a way around that.
