restore backup of RB1100 on RB1200 - broken ports

Hello, deal collegues !
Can you give me a hint ?

I have two routers - RB1200 and RB1100
I create backup of RB1200 and then restore it on the RB1100 - everything works.
I create a backup of RB1100 and then restore it on RB1200 - then stop working on ports 12345 (Atheros switch), and I can not make it work

everything is configured correctly
there is no “red lines”
Interface tab shows how the running packages
but it is impossible to connect to ports 1-5 (Atheros switch)
no IP, no MAC, no way :frowning:

anyone encountered this problem?

.backup files are not meant to be moved between devices let alone model types. This is likely where you are getting the problem.

The proper way to move configuration around would be to use the /export command into .rsc files that you can then import on other devices.

Check the switch port settings at the restored routerboard.

Switch → Port. Default VLAN ID may need to be changed to 0 (instead of auto) and vice versa. VLAN mode may need to be changed to fallback (instead of disabled) and vice versa. Hope that the unknown switch and unknown switch ports (shown because the switch chips differ) don’t have any negative impact at all.

Also, reverting back to version 5 from version 6, solves that issue.
