I am having problem with a PtP link, each end is is using 24dBi Grids signal strength is -74 on both tx/rx, ping time is decent around 8 ms.
I am currently using 10 mhz channels witht the radio locked to 24Mbps
Speed is jumping around alot, sometimes I get 4.4 Mbps TCP, other times I only get 400 kbps. Signal strength stays constant ping times don’t seem change, speed just jumps around alot.
As far as interference there is not much around the tx antenna (its up about 120 ft on an apartment building. Other links I have on the building work fine. The Rx antenna is in a small suburban neighborhood.
I am suspecting either my tx radio is detecting other radios transmitting and is backing off at times, or there is some type of interference that is causing retransmits. Other wireless equipment/software typically allows you to get a reading for the number or retransmits or number of dropped packets.
Is there anything within RouterOS that gives me this data?
They would backoff even when they detecting other signal
even if they located many-many kilometer away.
Just if MT could hasten iplement :
CSMA/CA backoff disable
CCA threshold modification.
It would be great, any of this problem would be solved.
It creates hype that MT wireless system is very great and
could work where other radio can’t because interferences.
