RG750 - How to reinstall with Netinstall

Hi

Scenario: we have a RG750G v.4.10. Working normally. We want to upload to last software available. We upload .nkp file (drag/drop), switch off/on the router and then we are not be able to connect to router anymore.

I have tried to reset router, using the info provide to us by support

● RouterBOOT reset button (RESET, front panel) has two functions:
● Hold this button during boot time until LED light starts flashing, release the button to reset RouterOS configuration (same result as with reset hole)
● Hold this button during boot time longer, until LED turns off, then release it to make RB750 look for Netinstall servers.

Did not work. So our last change is Netinstall. What happen? Well all info in Internet is to routers with Serial Port and 750G does not have any serial port.

Question: Can someone provide to us the step-by-step procedure to reset 750G(no serial port) ?

thanks!

all mentioned methods work fine always. maybe you did something wrong?

Actually the problem is I don’t know how to apply Netinstall to reinstall RouterOS in 750g, because my router have not Serial Port. So now, at this time, I have not been able to apply this solution. This was my question:

How I can apply Netinstall solution if Microtik router have not a serial port?

Thanks!

You don’t need a serial port for NetInstall.

Follow that, but instead of using the serial cable to reconfigure the bootloader to boot via PXE, use the third bullet from your original post:

● Hold this button during boot time longer, until LED turns off, then release it to make RB750 look for Netinstall servers.

Anybody got a step by step netinstall on a rb750, tried with no luck - setup my laptop with static ip address (192.168.
1.50) and with net booting server enabled using client address 192.168.1.60 (tried ports 1- 5) - while pressing reset button on 750 applied power waited till led (act) stopped blinking and watching netinstall program which if using the serial cable method would display “nsteme” drive when connected but this did not-?

sorted -

● Hold this button during boot time longer, until LED turns off, then release it to make RB750 look for Netinstall servers.

keep pressed until netinstall displays “nstreme”
