Ring Camera dropping out

When have you been in Italy in a real Italian style restaurant where whole Italian family (real one) eat the dinner? You can be blind but you would hear where such a restaurant is.
Some cultural habits are valid forever.
:innocent:

P.S.
If Italians decide to spend half a day at a table in a restaurant it usually means that food is good there :slight_smile:

Yeah , I get that ....I was just hoping it was a known problem .

I suppose I could ask Camping connect to remove the Mikrotik , and I'll put in my own Deco unit ?

Ask them to try version 7.23.4, the newest driver on 7.24 > seems to have issues at least for me.

@BartoszP
Nowadays the typical family (mom, dad and two sons) enters the restaurant, the dad chooses a table, mom changes it with another one (just to establish in public who the boss is) then the two children are given two tablets, the younger kid watches cartoons on it while the older one plays a videogame, the dad starts making photos of the restaurant with his smartphone to show his friends where he is, the mom has long chat sessions on her smartphone with friends.
After a few minutes the waiter asks what they want for dinner and they say "give us some more time we haven't yet seen the menu" ...
Than the whole meal is consumed in absolute silence (bar some sound coming from the older kid's tablet).

@GuyT
Ring cameras (but it may also depend on models) have a name for being tricky, in the sense that sometimes they disconnect for no apparent reason, not necessarily with Mikrotik devices.
But I have not clear the setup you have, the "Camping Connect" provides you with a hAP Ax S that is connected to "their" Wi-FI (and then you can use the ethernet ports to connect by wire your devices), how is the RIng camera connected? As a simple wi-fi client to the "generic" Wi-Fi provided by "Camping Connect"?

If yes, what I would do personally - even if there were not any connection hiccups - would be to procure an el-cheapo used device (a Mikrotik mAP, mAP lite, hAP mini or hAP lite will all do and they can usually be found below 20 €/$ on e-bay or similar) connect it to a port of the hAP ax S and make a dedicated, separated wi-fi for the Ring camera.

Hi

thanks for the input.

Camping Connect provide a turnkey wifi solution for the static caravans. I have a Cambium 5GHz antenna which is directed to one of their receiver towers, which in turn routes to the internet. The Cambium antenna is powered by the POE port on the Mikrotik device. As far as I am aware the Mikrotik device is acting as my wifi and ehternet access point to their network. I have a couple of ethernet devices connected on the Microtik ethernet ports. The other devices are on the Microtik wifi . The Ring camera is connected on the 2.4Ghz wifi using my SSID which the Microtik is broadcasting.

I have a redundant TPlink Archer AX73 at home which I could connect to one of the ethernet ports and run the ring camera through this. Its massive overkill but it would perform a useful test. If the ring cam stayed active , then its a Microtik issue . I could then take the decision to remove the Microtik and just use the AX73. ( I would need a POE injector to power the Cambium)

What do the lights on the front mean. There are 3 which I assume are Power, 2.4Ghz and 5GHz.

The power and 2.4Ghz are solid green but the 5 GHz one is flashing and I cant get a 5 GHz connection ?

Do not shoot me with that. Let me have a little hope that "grass would be still as green as it used to be in days of old".

BTW: not mum & dad & sons but partners & descendants ... let them choose who they are :slight_smile:

:cry: :cry: :cry:

Probably with DFS it cannot find a free channel, or your device does not have the same channels set.

Flashing for wifi leds usually means "network activity". Solid is just "yeah its enabled".

The temporary test with the Archer sounds like a good idea. :slightly_smiling_face:
(though it won't tell us whether it is Mikrotik or the Camper Connect configuration).

I would re-hint how "wifi camera+connection to something I don't own/control" is not advised. (personally that just stops at "Wifi Camera", but I know I am sometimes overcautious).

OK , Ive installed my AX73 and have everything running through this now. The WAN port from the AX73 goes into the Microtik and this then goes out to the Camping connect system. The Microtik is still active as a router, but if the AX73 is stable , I will probably either remove it, or ask Camping connect to put it in "Bridge Mode" ....so effectively it will be a glorified POE injector powering the Cambium antenna.
