Roku not Working Wireless or Wired, stuck on your local netw

Hi,

here is a wired problem for you !

I have a Roku and I’m in Mexico, so I use a US VPN on mi Mikrotik router to connect it so I can get my US Netflix, it so happens that I cannot connect to the WiFi or LAN because it fails to connect, it goes trough a process, wireless network, it checks green, but local network and internet check red. so I did some research and I go in to a secret menu on the roku to disable pings, then it connects, but I Install Rokus every day so I need to come up with a fix on the Mikrotik, what can I check or add to pass the WiFi connection? when I disable the VPN it connects fine, its just when the VPN is enables, so I guess its not wifi settings… maybe a NAT rule? please advice!

Thanks!

Ivan

Hard to comment with out an actual config to look at. btw - Have you considered a NAT/PAT solution to avoid the VPN overhead?

If all you want is to watch u.s. Netflix, you don’t really need a VPN which encrypts all your traffic and can slow your traffic down. I better approach to get around the geo-blocking for you maybe as simple as using any DNS unblocking service such as Tunlr which reroutes your traffic to bypass the geo-block restriction.
