ROS 6.28, 6.29, 6.29.1 - unstable & crashing on RB951G-2HnD

Hi,

RB951G-2HnD reboots / restarts at irregular intervals since upgraded from 6.27. Sometimes it keeps running normally for several days with no reboot but there are periods with multiple spontaneous reboots per day. I guess it’s more inclined to crash under stress, like while downloading or seeding torrents. That’s very undesired behavior indeed.

I use rather simple ROS setup, nothing fancy. It’s easy on CPU and memory resources for most of the time. I do use OVPN Server with certificate though and often see LOG entries like “CRL size limit exceeded, ignoring”. That’s not very comforting and might eventually be related to issue.

Reboot observations:

  1. Device stops working and becomes unresponsive for several moments (<minute or so, like a normal reboot).
  2. I remember experiencing kernel crash notice at least in one ocassion.
  3. I remember experiencing OOM notice at least in one ocassion.
  4. Sometimes the effects of “reboot” are kind of unexpected - uptime always gets reseted (that’s ok) but winbox session (i.e. opened views) does not get reseted (unlike normal reboot).

Going back to 6.27 makes the issue to go away. That makes me to believe something wrong is going on with 6.28 and later releases.

Anyone else having similar difficulties by chance?

we are having various problems with CCR and version 6.28. Simply nothing to RouterBoard hangs or freezes. It is accessible through the serial port, but it does not appear via network.

I do have the same issue. In 6.29 it caused reboot with oom

in 6,30 rc22 it sometimes causes WebFig to be unavailable, and it uses more than 60% of memory

After a reboot, and before the CRL error message in the log, free memory is about 100MiB

I have searched a bit and some people says that removing certificates will fix it, but for me that is not an option!
