Hello!
How many RAM can utilise Router OS 6.x on PC server? Only 2 GB as in version 5?
It’s hard to find server with less than 4GB RAM now.
Hello!

Yes, 2GB of RAM are supported on x86.
CCR supports up to 16GB of RAM.
Thank you for reply sergejs!
Do you have a plan to release x86_64 version with higher memory limit in the future?
ROS x86 are using usualy on top PCs, because for other cases RB hardware works well.
There are no plans for x64 at the moment. But we will consider it for the future for sure.
I’m reopening this topic for the 2Gb memory limit of the x86 version of routeros. We are running dude server on it and it take almost all the ram available. We monitor around 1000 nodes. I tried to use a CCR device but the storage are too small or too slow if I use external flash card. I tried with a very fast flash card but it seem that the port is the limitation.
Right now, I run RouterOS within a Virtual Machine and I would like to expand the ram to at least 4Gb.
Thank you
Use chr in this case.
Did you use USB flash drive, or an SD card? The latter should work better.
Thank you Jarda for replying but what is chr ?
I used a microSD right in the slot at the back of the CCR and using dude, I received a message that it need a faster storage device otherwise data loss will occur.
CHR is a RouterOS version for Virtual Machine installations. Dude runs well there. There is a guide too:

Excellent, Thank you Normis for this quick reply. I will take a look at this.
CHR good solution but it not take full support.
Example in vmware - i pass-through wireless card to virtual router CHR, but it does not work and i don’t know it because CHR have free license or because CHR did not work well with install wireless card. In System-Resource-PCI i see installed card, but it not display in Wireless tab. And virtual machine run not so fast as clear RouterOS setup. And VM can turn of normal without tools or scripts.
For the Dude integration you can use nice RB1100AHx4 Dude Edition: https://mikrotik.com/product/rb1100ahx4
I was curuos that it comes with 2 Serial ATA connectors and 2 Trays for 3.5 inch drivers.
It also can be equiped with the third M.2 PCI SSD drive
