I can access Mikrotik SMB share with direct ip address \1.2.3.4 in File Manager address bar.
I do not see host Mikrotik in Network in File Manager.
Is this feature not implemented in Mikrotik ROS?
Same problem on ROS 7.16 AC2, months ago I tried on Win10 but the shared disk still doesn’t appear… By enabling SMB v1 I seem to remember that it appears. This doesn’t make sense to me because some versions of ROS ago SMB v1 was abandoned in favor of a more recent version but if I remove support for v1 from Windows, I don’t see anything anymore. I should point out that sharing works if I manually enter the IP-DNS name… By the way I don’t know if it’s a bug but the name of the sharing must be written in lowercase for example “usb_disk”. If I write “USB_Disk” I find 2 folders, one lowercase and one written in uppercase letters…
Share are duplicated when it contain one capital letter.
So, “Storage” became “Storage” and “storage”.
After reading Google a little:
Windows will display \SHARE as \share, if some registry key is not set, and \Share as \Share.
So, here we have some Mikrotik tweak for any scenario, IMHO.
I just gave up on pretty naming and return all shares to all lowercase.
Isn’t that more convenient to just mount share as disk using it’s \IP\path and forget?
