Hey,
I’ve been testing IPv6 Prefix delegation over PPPoE lately. I find I can get it working on ROS version 6.48.4 but not on ROS 7.1.3/7.1.1.
I’ve got this setup:
3 Routers: RB2011, RB4011, RB4011
One RB4011 is running ROS 7.1.3 and is acting as the PPPoE server
The RB2011 is running ROS 6.48.4 and is the PPPoE Client
The second RB4011 is running ROS 6.48.4 and is also acting as a PPPoE server
When I try to delegate a prefix from the RB4011 running ROS7 the RB2011 never gets a prefix, however if I take the same PPPoE server setup from the RB4011 running ROS7 and I put it on the RB4011 running ROS6.48.4 the RB2011 does successfully get a /48 IPv6 Pool. One variable is interfaces on the ROS7 RB4011 are configured using bridging and vlans (which I also tested with it’s pppoe server on a ether10 outside it’s bridge to be more thorough).
Has anyone else experienced this issue?
One thing that further complicates this is if I reverse the roles and turn the RB4011 running ROS6.48.4 into the PPPoE Server and the RB4011 with ROS7 into a PPPoE Client with a IPv6 DHCP Client on it’s PPPoE interface. The client says searching, never grabs a prefix and it says invalid:
