I seem to be having a serious issue with my ROS mangle setup and queue tree set-up. I have been giving this a bash for a couple of months now consulting many technical manuals and I can’t seem to find where my issue lies. I am having a problem with the detection of general traffic on ether-1 (my internet-in port) with pre-routing. So I then decided to try a post-routing set-up accounting for all the variable changes as well as the use of differing ports. Still to no avail. I then tried to switch the ports to any to pick up either in-coming or out-going ports but still to no avail. In correspondence with this it seems my mangle rules are not identifying or marking packets and connections properly (possibly due to the initial problem of not being able to pick up traffic on ether-1 - but I should mention my dummy trackers are picking up traffic flow).
Can anyone with a kind heart and patient soul help me a bit?
When I try to remove the firewall filter it gives me this error message. I then tried to remove the mangle for them and still to no avail. There seems to be no option to just disable them (which is confusing because for my other firewall rules and mangle rules I am able to disable or remove them).
Sorry I realise now that this may have been a half-effort attempt to explain exactly what is going on.
First of all those fasstrack rules are immune to deletion or disabling on my ROS config accessed via Winbox.
My mangle rules look like this:
My filter rules look like this:
My queue list looks like this:
It looks to me that my mangle is picking up some traffic on the ports of what I require it to split (web traffic, streaming [using a layer 7 protocol], gaming, and torrenting [using the built-in p2p functionality]) but I am still experiencing major balancing issues with the mangle and filter rules with the queues. I require the ROS system to balance the other sections down whilst gaming remains a high priority.
If someone could help/assist - I am more than willing to reply quickly and with the information required - also I have very much attempted to get this right myself and failed dismally.
