I have been trying to get a new x86 based system going with ROS.
I have tried both Netinstall and ISO on a CD.
Hardware:
Brand new Intel LGA1155 motherboard with i5-3550.
Year old or so 8 gig Kensington SSDNow drive.
I can install the software from a windows machine via netinstall just fine.
When I move the drive to the new machine ROS does not find a bootable HD.
When I try from an ISO it boots fine from CD but also will not find any HDs to install to.
The hardware is just fine and sees the SSD drive in the BIOS and I have made sure the boot order is OK.
Windows XP machine can see the drive fine. I can format it FAT32 and install ROS to it.
Just won’t boot in new machine.
Anyone seen problems booting to an SSD drive with ROS 5.20 or have any tips for getting it to boot?
What motherboard do you have exactly? I want build PC for mikrotik 5.20 too.
Everything is working on your machine? (multicpu=yes work??) Please, can you write here specification yours PC.
Please, can you write here detail specification of your PC with mikrotik. I want build new PC for mikrotik too.
Is everything working for you, mean multicpu = yes. Did you resolve problem with boot from SSD?
In order to install RouterOS onto my SSD drive the only way I could get it to work was use an IDE CDROM drive with a Universal Drive Adapter (IDE to USB). This is the only way I could get the system to recognize both the CDROM and SSD Drive at the same time.
thanks for answer, so your mikrotik run just fine with SSD conected over SATA-USB reduction ?
what model of motherboard do you have? and CPU? Does multicpu=yes is work for you? Is it all stable? Thank you!!!
