ROS v6.0rc6 on CCR1016-12G crash each 1,30 hours [solved]

Hi, I have received today a CCR1016-12G

The first has been updated to v6.0rc6
The router is only connected to one ethernet to use winbox.

Each 1 hour and 30 minutes CCR1016-12G:

  • two quick beeps sounds
  • and a small sound of air fan 3 seconds

appears in the log:

Jan/07/2013 11:18:29 – system error critical – router was rebooted without proper shutdown
Jan/07/2013 12:49:34 – system error critical – router was rebooted without proper shutdown
Jan/07/2013 14:21:00 – system error critical – router was rebooted without proper shutdown
Jan/07/2013 15:52:05 – system error critical – router was rebooted without proper shutdown
Jan/07/2013 17:16:41 – system error critical – router was rebooted without proper shutdown

Any idea what could be happening?

please upgrade to this test release, and see if it helps. if not, this build will have more detailed info in your supout.rif file:
http://www.mikrotik.com/download/share/routeros-tile-6.0rc7.npk

Trying now v6.0rc7, tomorrow see if problems continue…

I feedback here the results for another people with same problem.

Thanks your fast response.

With v6.0rc7 problem solved, router no reboots now each 1,30 hours.

Thanks.

Finally, problem persist with rc7. I installed rc7 yesterday and no problems all night, but this morning:

Jan/09/2013 11:07:23 - system error critical - router was rebooted without proper shutdown
Jan/09/2013 12:20:37 - system error critical - router was rebooted without proper shutdown
Jan/09/2013 13:33:15 - system error critical - router was rebooted without proper shutdown
Jan/09/2013 14:45:40 - system error critical - router was rebooted without proper shutdown

The router is not in use, only 1 eth connect to see winbox.

when this happens, make supout.rif file and send to us. Also I recommend everyone to connect a serial cable, and check serial console output. You can even keep it connected if your serial console program has big scrollback, you will see any past problems and will be able to copy/paste them for us

I try your recommendation tomorrow and feedback here. thx.

At the moment with last rc7 only 1 reboot in 4 days, continue monitoring…

The same problem. Device CCR1036-12G-4S with 6.0rc7 few days worked intermittently congested. Not immediately noticed. But today reloaded every 5 minutes. Look - was included wathcdog without IP addresses. Disabling - a device hanging. Turned back on. What to do? Very urgent need to solve the problem. (((((

I am also seeing a lot of random reboots in 24 hour periods. The main concern is on v6.0rc7 with CCR1036. I have sent two supouts to support and haven’t had a single reply yet. Fast path isn’t being used. I don’t know if that has anything to do with it. I will have to try the serial console to collect some additional output.

Please try the new RC9 release, we have fixed many reboot problems in this release. We will have it on webpage later today, but you can try it now:

Thanks normis. I will give that a try.

So far I have gone 1d 09:51:40 with rc9. This is the longest it has lasted without an unexpected reboot. Granted, it tends to reboot every few hours when I have traffic passing through, even when it didn’t it didn’t make it 24 hours without the watchdog (I assume) rebooting. I might try giving it some load again later if it continues to be stable.

I forgot to mention, my RB951-2n was rebooting every day or so as well and putting rc9 on it has helped. That router has lasted 2d 06:33:15 so far.

I haven’t had any issues with reboots while on rc9 (13 days uptime on tile and 14 on 951-2n so far). Many thanks!
