Notes. ← A simple manual entry log by admins that go , ##date time $user, “disbaled wilan2 - Grid removed for maintenance” ← or something like that just so that if you login to a router you can see what someone else has done,
“Better flow tracking in winbox” oftine i can see a ip that’s using a lot of bandwidth on the “pppoe-out” but finding that on the inside network takes a little bit of time, and geussing. would be nice to have the option to see actual source and actual dest as well, or like in the firewall with connection tracing, have the ability to see the Throughput there.
“wireless snapshot” - After configuring a link be able to take a snapshot that will store the tx-db rx-db and ccq for the link, then at a later stage you could click compare, and you will be able to see what the link quality is compared to what it used to be. its helpful when you do maintenance on many many sites, then you can off the bat check if the link has changed. Could even be used to bring notify you if your link changes by more than 9db @ speed, or whatever…
record data from an interface over time. xml, cvs, txt or something. just make a file with desired values.
eg:
/interface wireless *get=some of the values" “duration = some time” “time = 1s”
and a file that would be something like:
wlan1
CCQ,TX,RX etc etc etc
xxx,xxx,xxx,xxx,xxx ← from 1s
yyy,yyy,yyy,yyy,yyy ← from 2s
zzz,zzz,zzz,zzzz,zzz ← from 3s
I know there are possible getting this in other way, (eg SNMP, still limited) but to get values over a period of time, or during some kind of test to a file would be a nice feture.
a lot of use… signal strengt/rates over a time… etc etc etc. i changed a rate. what does signal do? have this in a format that is possible to use. maybe in exel, import to a sql etc.
