dear mikrotik users,

i hope you can help me, with my problem to install a X86 Ros on a PC.

my problem is, if i try to install the ros x86 (fw 5.5 or 4.17) from the cd or over netinstall, it stop´s at the install start dialogue.

first of all the hardware of our pc.

i tryed to install the ros X86 over a cd with a X86 image and over netinstall, both options have the same problem, the start dialogue stop´s at:

netinstall message:

trying to load: pxelinux.cfg/01-00-04-75-be-fa-
loading linux…
loading initrd.rgz
ready.

cd install message:

loading linux…
loading initrd.rgz
ready.

after waiting for a few minutes it doesn’t continue, if i press any key, its the same, so what can be the problem? any idea?

best regards phil

can you attach storage of the router to some windows machine and do netinstall on the disk dirrectly and try to boot the router from that?

Hello,

now i tryed to install it over netinstall on a Windows maschine.
I integrate it as secondary drive, to my Windows system and i format the drive in the NTFS data system.
Then i install, on the new partition with netinstall, the rosx86 system.

If i try to boot from the hdd with the Mikrotik system, the pc can´t find any boot media.

In the boot process i get the following error report: "insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key_.

maybe the motherboard isn´t supported, i think last possible problem is the motherboard? Or any other Idea?

best regards
phil

Did you solve it?
