If you’re not familiar with setting up MikroTik routers, it’s best to use Quick Set to set up the basic functionality, and then make modifications to the resulting configuration. The mode you want to use in Quick Set is probably “HomeAP dual”.
Before using Quick Set you will probably want to reset the router. This can be done from WInBox, through the web browser or using the reset button. Here’s the corresponding wiki page.
If, after using Quick Set, the WiFi network does not show up on some devices, you will need to go deeper into WiFi configuration. By default, newer MikroTik devices will randomly select U-NII-3 channels, which became available for use in WiFi only a relatively short time ago and are not supported by all devices. To make sure this isn’t happening, you can assign a known channel manually.
Go into WiFi > Interfaces, locate the 5GHz interface (it’s probably the second one), and in its configuration options, in the “Channel” tab, there will be two parameters: frequency and channel width. You will want to set frequency to 5180, channel width to 20/40/80 MHz. This frequency and channel width combination is somewhat foolproof.
