Route cache is still there

Hello
latest ROS 7 still has the route cache inside.
is that normal?

Ipv4 route cache in the Linux kernel used by ROS v7 does not exist.

Well.

ip settings, there is route cache

if we disable that, it is disabled also fastpath, so the question is… why the checkbox is still there?

Settings backported from v6 that’s it.

Ok so we need to touch it? Leave it formally enabled?

On ROS 6 we disabled route cache when we dont need fastpath or fasttrack.

Leave Route Cache enabled on v6/v7 it doesn’t matter.

Eheheh it makes a big differences in v6 with route cache disabled in case of ddos attacks. Has been extensively proven.

If it is just a backport, can you please remove in the next release the checkbox to avoid further confusion?
you can still “disable” the checkbox and disable fastpath in ROS v7.
The routecache, however, is not present in ROS 7

Since you know what it does and what it doesn’t, why are you still confused? (congrats for digging up one year old topic started by yourself).
