hi,all
yesterday,i bought a new P43 mainboard from market ,but i found the routeos can’t work on the mainbord. i looked some paper so that i know the routeros don’t contain the IDE driver.
how to add a driver for the new ide interface?
that’s why we use USB Flash Drives - no problems with IDE ))
no, you cannot add your own drivers to RouterOS
thank you for reply me first
But I think you’ve misunderstood my question.
My problem is the flash-HDD can not be boot successful from Intel P43/ICH10 motherboard.
Because the IDE port is not based on the chipset, but derived from JMicron Chip(Model:JMB368)
When I used Intel 875P/ICH5, This flash-HDD worked very well ![]()
yep, JMicron is evil =) see whether you can disable it in BIOS setup
If I disable it, the IDE port will be disabled too.??
i think the routeros should have added some new dirives now!
yesterday I saw a motherboard where you can select IDE chipset by BIOS settings…
and - they use drivers included in kernel. if kernel do not know such device - oops, you can do nothing
thank you for the important messege. i will test the way !
And also I hope the Offical Solution to this question as soon as possilble.
official solution is ‘use the hardware RouterOS supports’
