Router Disconnected

So, this is a weird problem i have searched here for a couple times and not found any similar examples. Hoping for some troubleshooting suggestions…

  • This problem has been going on for over a year now. Probably closer to two years. It has occured in different RouterOS firmwares and Winbox versions over the course of those two years. So my gut tells me this is a config problem.
  • Current Route OS: 6.43.2
  • Installed on on a Mikrotik CCR1016-12G
  • Current Winbox: 4.38.146
  • The problem I experience is that when I connect via Winbox using the IP address of the router Winbox will connect and work for roughly 30 seconds, then I get a Router Disconnected message. I am able to reconnect and again get about 30 seconds before it disconnects. Sometimes it’s quicker than 30 seconds, sometimes longer.
  • The interesting thing is that connecting via MAC address maintains a stable connection, with no issues whatsoever.
  • I have two Mikrotiks on my network, each is the gateway for 2 seperate networks. Both have different Router OS versions and different Mikrotiks, but Winbox version is the same. Both are configured similarly but slightly differently. And it occurs on both of them.
  • I have tried to use Winbox from different computers, wondering if it’s my workstation. No change, no matter the workstation (Win7, Win10).

Thanks for any ideas where to start troubleshooting.
