I tryid to change my Unifi USG-3 + Unifi Switch into a Mikrotik Crs328-24P-4S+RM booted into RouterOS.
I could not get WAN speeds above 400 mbit with no speciel firewall rules.
I did change back to the small UNIFI USG-3 and i got 513mbit down / 480 upload. My line is 500/500 fiber.
I did set the Crs328 to run in SWOS - and operate as a switch, and that works fine.
What Microtik Router Could handle 500/500 or min 1000/1000 wan + firewall rules? Or should the Crs328 be
able to handle it, my tests did not show it?
What Router model from Mikrotik can handle this line? I know the CRS is not a Router
CRS line are switches with L3 functionality. It’s fine to use them with ROS as switches (you don’t have to boot SwOS for that).
You should go for RB line, such as RB750Gr3 (which probably barely reaches your requirements) or some faster model (those typically come with bigger number of ports) such as RB4011iGS+RM or RB1100AHx4. CCR line of routers are beasts, but better used for larger number of concurrent users (read: for small to medium ISPs or medium-sized businesses).

It comes with WiFi, but You can disable it. Although the maximum routing speed is similar to the hEX3, it CPU is far better - and this will help with NAT and the rest.
Both would do 2Gbps - but this is on an ideal world: no NAT, packets with 1518 bytes and so on. A better approximation of real usage would be “25 ip filter rules, 512 byte packages”.
