My router has suddenly started dropping connections and the Watchdog is rebooting it at times.

There’s no error message about hardware/software issues of what could be causing it, it just drops and sometimes reboots.

Any ideas?

RouterOS version and model ?
Is Watchdog to default settings ? if yes then a reboot means that the Router was unresponsive for 1 minute…

Yes, default settings.

It’s an RB2011UiAS..
What would cause it to be unresponsive?
Hardware going bad?
It’s 3 years old.
I updated the RouterOS to 6.46.8 the other day to see if that would help, it didn’t.

Check Log, CPU, Temperatures, any recent changes etc…

Nothing in the log besides what you see in the original post.
CPU holds steady between 30-33C..

Is your power supply good ? Did you test with another one ?
How often are the Reboots?

If older IT devices start behaving funny, the power supply is often the case, as the electrolytic capacitors dry with time (the faster the worse the cooling is), thus lose capacity, thus cannot do their job of providing energy for short spikes of higher power consumption. So the first thing to do is always to try with a new (not just another) power supply adaptor, unless the trouble starts after a software upgrade or a significant configuration change.

There are hundreds of reasons why a port could go Down/Up or a Router Reboots…

UPDATE:
I tried a different power supply, even tried a PoE power supply. The dropouts and occasional reboots continued.
Given that my wife is working from home and her conference calls were being dropped I had to do something quickly.
I ended up replacing the RB2011UiAS with an RB760iGS. Took about 30 minutes to enter my config and everything is stable now.

I suspect the issue with the RB2011 is related to heat. None of these little boxes seem to have fans and they are quite warm to the
touch. Since it wasn’t just one port, or just the ports on one switch bank but all ports went down together, I suspect there’s something
on the main board that’s about to go out.
