Hi, This morning a rb433ah just refused login to winbox and telnet to the user login details we had setup. Its all working OK in it’s job for routing etc but it’s a little worrying we can’t login today.
Has anyone else ever has this? Like for example is it a crash/bug in the server software? Or some very cleaver person cracked my login and changed it but kept it all working? 4.10 rb433ah..
Not much to go on, but I have locked myself out of my routers before with the “Protect your Router” rules in the firewall docs. The rule that will lure you into thinking all is ok is this:
add chain=input action=accept connection-state=established
You can now change input rules to lock yourself out and it does not affect your login status until you log out!
Did you use these and then forget to allow the remote computer access with another rule?
No it’s nothing like that.
Its a remote site that has not had any settings changed for ages.
It just happened on it’s own in the night! I haven’t even tried rebooting it yet as I will have to go there and take a look?
Sounds like that is the only recourse. When you go, don’t forget a null modem cable. It may not let you in on any interface.
