hello good afternoon, a short time ago I purchased a mikrotik hexpoe router to be able to turn on a
mikrotik camera through a poe port of the router but when making the connections I realized that the camera did not turn on, it is worth mentioning that I did all the configurations in the router so that it provides internet, I do not know if something should be previously configured in The router so that the ports give poe or am I skipping some step? I hope someone can help me with this, I have not known the real reason why this happens for a long time.
MikroTik camera?
PoE Camera usually work at 48V, not 12V or 24V
Check your camera PoE in requirements (passive, 802.3 af/at , voltage). For 48V you will need another power supply (something like https://mikrotik.com/product/48POW )
On the hEX poE , set/check poE out
.

Can you post a link to a mikrotik camera as I cannot find it ???
or are you saying you bought a POE based camera from vendor X, without asking here first.
The poe on Mikrotik is next to useless and can power very few things actually, mostly just other mikrotik products…
Some cameras are able to use both: PoE and DC powering. If your model has a DC port and accepts 12v, then you may try to use a simple PoE splitter and pull out the DC power from IT. Probably you will be limited to 100mbs Your PoE port on your MT have to be passive. Please measure the voltage and polarization, before you connect your cam
Your PoE port on your MT have to be passive
I hope HEX PoE (= Powerbox Pro) is even better than most other MT and really supports 802.3 af/at with the correct power supply. (Pin layout mode B only? Never tried it with a camera)
Note: Some MikroTik devices support all of the described standards (e.g. hEX PoE, PowerBOX Pro, CRS112-8P-4S-IN etc...)
hEX PoE and PowerBox Pro are passive only.
it can power for sure all MikroTik device with PoE,
Cambium PTP450b series (non-i-or-m)
Ubiquity AF5XHD and AF60-LR
CRS112-8P-4S
can power all written before and also
Cambium PTP450 all series except for 450m (Medusa)
Bot can not power PoE+ devices (on pin 1-2+ , 3-6- , 4-5+ ,7-8- ) can use more than 2A per port like Medusa, Ceragon, S.I.A.E., etc.
From products presentation: It (hEX POE) can power at/af mode B (4,5+)(7,
compatible devices, if 48-57 input voltage is used.
Never tested with camera, but with some Ubiquiti equipment it can help to use ‘always on’ instead of the more safe ‘auto’ for poe in hEX POE. (I take no responsibility for what happens with your camera)
I’m not sure if we were understood properly. Generally the idea is to get the DC jack from the poe splitter like this:
