Hello. Lab setup for wireguard between two Mikrotik units, both with ver 7.1, default reset with default config. Wireguard configured by Mikrotik wiki.
Problem: When under static route settings for remote network reachable via wireguard interface I set “Check Gateway: ping”, traffic via wireguard tunnel stopped. Remove check gateway and traffic pass again.
Is this a bug or feature?
P.S. for wireguard interfaces I set 10.10.13.0/30 subnet, which I also added to both peers allowed networks list.
Network diagram and export both configs… not here to play guessing games…
I have the same problem.
I’m using simple wireguard connection to PUREVPN provider (router OS is just client in this case). Tunel (peer) itself works without problem, but when I enable gateway checking with PING , after few moments route is considered unreachable.
I haven’t found any working example how to check WG gateway status.
