Hello,
I’m currently using ROS v3.0 on RB333 with last firmware.
I’m Using DNS cache with “allow remote requests” on, so my users just use the router IP as DNS resolver. Default settings here, just added primary and secondary DNS ip’s (ISP ones).
Since i’ve starting using this system i’ve noticed some strange behavior when browsing the web with any browser. If i open a html page with some heavy objects in it, say some myspace with TONS on images from many different IP sources, the browser takes AGES to resolve all ip’s on the page, stopping on every “resolving xxxx.xxx.xxx” a while. The data transfer after resolving is very fast, it saturates a 12Mbit line and has very good throughput on all kind of transfers (the CPU is under 10% every time).
So i did some testing, and configured a client machine to resolve DNS directly to my ISP DNS servers (the same i’ve put on the ROS), and voilà, it opens the same king of page in seconds, resolving every single ip 1000x as fast. I’m configuring something wrong or is this a bug?
Thanks.
Tiago Lopes
