Router OS x86 unable to install on Dell R710

Hi guys,
I’ve been trying to install Router OS 6.35 on one of my Dell Servers R710, unfortunately the installer doesn’t recognize the hard drive. I tried with (disks on RAID and without RAID config) the H700 RAID card and nothing, also tried with the PERC 6/i RAID card and nothing, and finally tried with a USB flash drive in the internal USB port and also nothing, the installer doesn’t recognize the hard drives. Any idea? PCI-Express SSD card?

i think a good option is to install routerOS virtualized

The thing is that I really wouldn’t like to use a virtualized router as our main core router.

I have two offices running x86 on ESXi 6. It works quite well, and as a bonus you can clone the VM and script ESXi to power up the clone if/when the main crashes and won’t boot.

If you really want it on the hardware, need to keep the RAM to a max of 2GB, and you will need to run an SATA hard drive off of a native controller. It will not detect a Dell PERC or LSI Megaraid.

You could also deploy it as CHR on VMware. That’ll give you a 64-bit install versus the x86 which is only 32-bit. Plus, the advantages of running in VMware are numerous…not being tied to a specific piece of hardware, the ability to increase the hardware resources available to the VM without having to upgrade physical hardware, flexible NIC support, etc.
