Router Will not recieve WAN IP Address from DHCP

I am trying to set up my rb951g-2hnd as my home router. I have it hooked up to my Motorola surfboard in port 2. I have the router currently set up with the default configuration.

My issue is that the quickset page the router is not listing anything for the WAN IP Address. It is set to receive it from DHCP but it never gets one.

I am able to access the internet from the wired connections but my wireless is unable to. I am completely lost in what I need to do to fix this any help would be great.

Thanks

Quickset is for less experienced users that put the modem into ether1. Set router manually or use ether1 as wan port.

  1. Make sure you have the interface configured for WAN, and the DHCP client is setup for that interface.
  2. Cable Modems normally can only connect to a single MAC address. You will often need to power cycle the modem before it will allow the router to get an address.

This fixed it. I feel very “Less experienced” haha thanks

Glad to help you. Everyone needs a hint sometimes.
