My router WiFi speed has suddenly fallen off the cliff, the lan cable test yields 9Mbps but by WiFi devices keep on losing connection, I have a 2GHx and a 5GHz, I use to watch videos and stream without issues, now just staying connected is an issue, the SIP speed is 10Mbps, the ISP blames interference from nearby routers and suggest I buy a ruckus router to extend my reach ar a lan connected extender to the routers, is there any setting I can try before taking drastic steps, I am using router board with router os 6.39.
Are you sure your router isn’t hacked and all the bandwidth being used by attackers? 6.39 is vulnerable to many exploits, if you have any ports exposed it’s likely hacked. You should netinstall to 6.42.6 to remove any malware.
If you’re sure it isn’t compromised, try changing channels on the wifi. Maybe you have a new neighbor blasting interference on your channel.
