Router with LTE world wide?

Hello everyone, I am building a small server stack for an art installation.
I would like to choose a Mikrotik product that has LTE capability or that can be added in case i have to remote to my server without wifi available.

The main issue is that this will be used in US and Europe/Asia and it seems that the Chateau LTe doesn’t offer the full range of bands for 4G.

I have seen that the hAP Ax S could be paired with the KNOT but it would take one of the ethernet slots. the hAP does have a Usb that allows LTE modems to be connected, but I can not find any recommendations for compatibles usb modem (I am also worried about speeds)

Does anyone have recommendation for the hardware to buy that would allow LTE everywhere?

Not the cheapest solution, but something like the Quectel RM520N in a USB enclosure connected to, for example Hex S, would give you truly global connectivity (according to quectel’s claim of “global” in the specs). You would need to obtain and install a SIM card for service in the country where you are located, or use eSIM, which is also supported by RouterOS on the RM520N in the form of installing a physical eSIM card in the slot. I don't believe there is any reliable “global” sim service provider, but im willing to be educated.

Maybe by then a Starlink Mini is a better option?

Starlink is very far from global coverage due to local regulations.

T99w175 and t77w968 are cheap and supports all global bands.

One of my routers is MikroTik LTAP with t77w968-esim modem inside. Small and portable, esim works great.

I did not know that there was such thing as a physical esim.

I'll look into it for sure, it is more or less the same price as the Knot, but with USB connection. Very nice.

I'll check both T99w175, t77w968 and quectel and go with that + a physical esim.

Can the esim configuration be done directly with router OS?

Both T99w175 and t77w968 have versions with internal esim chip.

It’s the same as you are using 9esim for example.

All listed above can be controlled directly from routeros.
