Routerboard 11 PCI adapter with SR5 or Senao NMP-8602

Hello, anybody outthere using a RouterBOARD 11 MiniPCI to PCI adapter SR5? I did try it with an SR5 but I could not acomplish a 5 mile link using WDS tunnel bridge running Mircotik newest router os on a Pentium 300Mhz PC. My current setup consists of two RB112’s with SR5s.(Working tunnel). Can I Power a 802.11a/b/g 400mW Senao NMP-8602 with a RB11? I know that the SR5 requires alot of power but im not sure of the PCI adapter can power it correctly. Note: SR5 would get detected by the router os on the PC(but no wds link using the same antennas that the RB112s use).

Thanks,
RM

yes

we’ve got a celeron 600 pc with rb11 running sr5 (20kms-20mbps) and NMP-8602 (ap with about 20 clients) at the same time and it works perfectly - found motherboards with the Intel 815 chipsets to be the most reliable

hi,

works fine with any type of mainboard.
we try before.
but the only problem is with huge number of clients (e.g. 150+) and traffic 30Mbps and up. in that case you need a big CPU power and better to use PC with a good new CPU.

Do not use that combination at full power output. The specs for the 8602 list it’s possible maximum current draw at more than the RB11 voltage regulator is spec’d to provide. You’ll need to set the output power to less than 400mw to be safe.
