Routerboard 1100Ahx4 dude edition default password?

Hello,

i purchased second hand on ebay a Routerboard 1100Ahx4 dude edition, i reset the unit and now i cant login the unit.

as i read in the internet there is no standard default password anylonger... i have the serial number of my unit, is there a way to get the password again or this Routerboard 1100Ahx4 dude edition is trash now?

Best regards

Try netinstall

There never was a default password... so.. no password at all.
Have you tried "admin" without a password?

Check the "internet sources," they're just bullshit.

Assuming you reset it correctly,
Either the password is on the sticker (if any, but all "RB1100AHx4 D.E." I know are from v6 RouterOS, not v7),
or there is NO password.

Alternatively, if a branding package has been installed,
a different password is always applied upon reset,
so there's also the possibility of the device being stolen.

So the only valid alternative if "admin" does not work without a password,
is to do a netinstall by unchecking "Keep Branding" otherwise the branding password will be applied anyway.

I don't think that a second hand Routerboard 1100 Ahx4 dude edition is one of the "new" devices that come with password from factory.

It is much more likely that previous user has set a login/password.

A normal reset won't remove/change that.

BUT - independently from your current password issue - the "standard practice" when getting a second hand device (quite a few people will do the same even on brand new devices) is to do a Netinstall (that normally does allow resetting the password to admin/blank) as to avoid possible (accidental or intentional) corruptions of the OS .

Thanks a lot guys... resetting a second ime made the user admin and password empty working!!
what happens if i upgrade to 7.23? will the user and password be changed when resetting or will stay admin / empty?

best regards

Please read the users posts...

NO PASSWORD ON LABEL = NO PASSWORD

and use netinstall for install 7.23 for be sure:

  1. All is clean
  2. Correct upgrade from v6/old v7 with no garbage...
  3. A.D. third option
