Routerboard 112 as Pure AP

I have a routerboard 112 that I would like to setup as a pure AP. I have the etherent side connected to the internet. I have the wireless card and the ethernet bridged to bridge1 and a live ip address asigned to the bridge1 interface. I also have a default route setup to the internet router. The IP and the Route should be purely for management. The Internet router is supplying DHCP to the Client.

Whae I started configuring this, I would get disconnected from the Rb122 constantly. Finally it stayed pretty stable and I could connect to it al the time. The problem now is, the wireless signal comes and goes. If I am scanning from my laptop, I see the signal at 89, 88, 90, 12, 10, gone for a few minutes and then back again. I have checked and there are no other AP’s running anywhere near the channel I am using. I replaced the unit with a Cisco AP1230 a/b/g unit and it works like a dream. Am I asking too much of the RB112 or am I just screwing up the config somewhere.
Thanks for your help

no the 112 should be able to do this.. i would guess right off the back that on the problem card you need to go to:

wireless → advanced and check the “antenna mode” swap it from a to b and see if that helps..this refers to the often times 2 u.fl connectors on a radio card.

i was beating myself up over this last weekend when i knew a link i was testing out should be preforming flawlessly..turns out the master side was set to the wrong ant. port which explained my greatly fluxulating RSSI and connection state on the slave side.
