Hello,
We are trying to implement an RB11E with a Minipci-e radio card. The radio card accepts a U.fl connection.
There is no way that I can see to use the RF hole in the PC chassis mounting bracket.
Am I completely missing the concept but it seems the hole in the mounting bracket (that I assume was to be used to mount a pigtail) is apparently too small.
It would be proper to mount an RP-SMA pigtail then either connect a small antenna or RF cable to the SMA connector that extends to the rear of the PC for clean and convenient connections.
I am trying to implement an RP-SMA to U.fl pigtail and the hole on the RB11E mounting bracket measures 3/16 inch (5mm) and the RP-SMA connector measures 1/4 inch (6mm).
Also, why is there only ONE RF mounting hole on the bracket when 802.11n is a likely candidate and TWO antennas will be required.
Normunds indicated that the hole is there to use as a pass-thru for an RF cable. I’m not sure what they intend but not being able to mount a connection fitting to the back of the PC that the RB11E is installed into is not going to work very well.
MIKROTIK: Can you please correct the RF hole size and add ONE or TWO additional mounting holes for up to 3 antennas for future use?
Regards…
