RouterBoard 133C3 LAN disabled. How to connect?

Hello All,

I have disabled my LAN in RouterBoard 133C3 inadvertently, so now I can’t connect to it with winbox. Do I have to connect with COM (Null-modem) cable now? I how to do that? is there any software I can use to connect to, and enable ether1 Lan?

Have you tried another ethernet port? If you only disabled one, the others may still respond.

I use HyperTerminal (Windows) on the serial port. Null modem cable required. Settings are 115200-8-N-1 hardware flow control.

There’s only one ethernet port. I don’t even know how to use HyperTerminal. Could you explain some most imortant things I should know? Or maybe there’s some other ways to enable it? I’ve found a reset button inside and tried to push it, but nothing…

Get a serial cable (null modem) and connect with any terminal program like Hyperterminal or Putty.

The cable looks like this:

Settings are 115K, 8, n, 1.

Then log in with the CLI and fix your problem.

Tom

You could use the reset button.

Thanks Tom

I have tried, but nothing happens. Maybe button doesn’t work or something…

Maybe there’s some other ways to do it? because I can’t find null-modem calble. Not a thome, nor in shops.

RB133? one ethernet port?.. I thought, ‘3’ means the number of ports…

You forgot the C on the end. I think it means “cheap”.

The RB133c only has 1 ethernet port and 1 miniPCI slot.

The RB133 has 3 ethernet ports and 3 miniPCI slots.

BTW By your logic the RB600 doesn’t have any ethernet ports. Remember there are exceptions to all rules.

Ask for a Cisco console cable and a Cisco DB9 adapter for the console cable. That’s where we get ours. You should be able to find that in most cities around the world since Cisco is so popular. Otherwise, mail order one. Every Mikrotik professional needs to have one of these. It is generally a requirement for Netinstall which is also how you recover from a lost password.

Tom

or maybe there is some kind of USB cable? I mean in one side it should be USB switch-plug, and on the other - just like Null modem cable has?

don’t use the button, use the jumper:

You were right! Thank You very much. Can anybody tell me how should I config a wireless so It could connect to wireless router (2.4 GHz) and get an IP address from it? It suppose to be an station wds as I understand? What else important things I should adjust?
'cause last I tried to configurate: it finds an wireless network, but can’t connect to it. And in that place where should be written “connected to ess” there’s “disabled (grey colored) | running (also grey colored) | searching for network (black colored)”
