Routerboard 411 and Huawei E1820

Hi there,

I would like to get my routerboard 411 and my Huawei E1820 to work. I am running routeros-mipsbe-5.8.npk

When I plug the dongle in.. and I do /system resource usb print - I can see the device [like below]
1 2:3 Huawei Technologies HUAWEI Mobile 480 Mbps

But when I setup a PPP connection on USB2, and try to connect.. it looks like it will do it, the light on the stick flashes happily.. the log shows it is connecting, but then something strange happens…

The log shows
“could not acquire serial port” - and then the routerboard restarts.

Anyone have any ideas ? Please help; I am quite lost.

That modem isn’t listed in the supported hardware. Try power cycle and try again. Still not work, write to support@mikrotik.com, send them supout and ask them if they can add support for that modem.
