So as I understand it, most or all 900MHz cards are a step down converter from the 2.4GHz cards. So why is it I cant get router OS to see the 900 MHz channels? I see the 2.4GHz channels but no 900MHz channels with this card. It shows up as a athos card which is what the chip set is. Is there a software switch I am missing? Script or OS update? Im at 3.25 now from 3.14
If the 2.4GHz channels are the 900MHz will I have to find a 2.4 to 900 cheat sheet every time I need to make a freq change?
Each 2.4GHz channel converts to a 900MHz channel. The card should come with a cheat sheet, and it isn’t that difficult. The XR9 has one, and its pretty easy to remember.
Yes, RouterOS will most likely show those cards as 2.4ghz band card. You need to look up in the manufacturers website for the frequency conversion table. When you have found that in the console you can specify that difference in the frequency-offset and then you will see the correct frequencies in winbox next to the 2.4ghz frequencies.
Also note that each manufacturer card might not be compatible with different manufacturer wireless card for the 900mhz band, so if you want to make a link please use the same manufacturer card.
